Liveloop is the forerunner of Cyclorama Lift - an empty feedback loop with electronics in between -  but it sounds way more agressive. It was actually the first time i found a way to bypass the guitar. It started by, at the end of a show, unplugging the guitar from the effects and routing their output back into their input...

Liveloop 1 was recorded live at Johnny Guitar in Lisbon in 1994. It was one of the rare improvised solo performances i did at that time. After the last set, it just occurred to me to plug one of my effects outputs back into their input, with a delay cycle reprocessing itself. Thus i found a new piece which i would play a few more times in the following years.

Liveloop 3 was recorded live at John Corbett's radio program at WHPK in Chicago in 1994. This was my first solo radio broadcast. “A guitarless composition for guitar effects", as Bill Meyer called it. At some point the loop began sounding like a sci-fi flame-thrower.

Liveloop 5 was recorded live at Harvestworks in New York in 1995. It was an Internet webcast, then an early experiment.

Liveloop 6 was recorded live at Lisbon's Expo '98 in 1998. This was the only recording of a version featuring a modular system in the loop. A full live set over 50 minutes. It also features (as some other versions) a stereo separation of the original processed signals (L) and the delayed loop return (R).
